Please join the Olde Blind Dog Cycling Club for our St. Paddy O’ Pedal Charity Bike Ride benefiting the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This event is a fun opportunity for cycling enthusiasts, families, friends, and the community to make a difference. John and Shawn Dickson lost their precious and vibrant daughter Kiersten to lung cancer. Treated by the compassionate doctors and staff at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Kiersten's parents teamed up with the Olde Blind Dog Cycling Club, to create this event. Funds raised benefit research to help the fight against childhood cancer. I lost my dad to Multiple Myeloma 21 years ago. In 2008 – my junior year of college, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had a craniotomy to remove the benign growth. In 2012 during a routine checkup I was told the tumor had returned and required me to undergo another brain surgery. My second surgery was performed at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Roswell Park is recognized as a premier comprehensive care center in America and strives to achieve excellence not only in patient treatment and care but also in clinical programs and research. The doctors, nurses, and staff were all exceptional at helping my family and me through this stressful and difficult time. Since my successful recovery, I have searched for a way to help support Roswell Park in furthering their research to find a cure for brain cancer and to bring more awareness and education regarding brain tumors. Buffalo Goes Gray was subsequently formed as a non-profit charitable organization whose purpose is to raise funds to bring awareness of brain tumors and further research for brain cancer treatment at Roswell Park. With the help of the generous sponsors and donations that we receive each year, we have been able to donate over $150,000 to Roswell Park. Since the inaugural event in 2014, the money raised goes to Roswell Park and in particular the SurVax M Vaccine. The SurVax M vaccine is a unique vaccine being studied as a treatment for glioblastoma at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

When I lived in Utah, one of my dear friends, Andy Bailey, was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma Leukemia six days after his son was born. I am thrilled to say that 10+ years later (after numerous treatments), he is cancer free! Since his diagnosis and remission, Andy has dedicated himself to helping others that find themselves in similar positions, specifically after they finish treatment where bills are high and the ability to work is sometimes limited. The Working Patient Program is a program Andy is helping to bring to life for this community. It would create a group of employers that can provide the type of work and flexibility that patients and families going through cancer can perform when able. Gauri's sister passed away recently. In lieu of flowers or cards, we created this fund to donate to the National Brain Tumor Society in her honor.

Our goal is for everyone at MongoDB to participate in this fundraising event to show our support for ending AIDS and because every dollar really does make a difference. "Even the smallest footprints can leave an imprint on this world" We are devastated by the passing of our daughter Eleanor Diane Ruth Marcell. On Sunday, November 1st, Jason and I went to the emergency room. After monitoring, no fetal movement or heartbeat was detected. I delivered our daughter stillborn at 9:20 am on Tuesday, November 3rd. Our little miracle measured 17” and weighed 5 lbs 4 oz. Her gestational age on November 1st was 34 weeks, 6 days. We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support of all that have surrounded our family in the last weeks. During the unimaginable grief we experienced during our hospital stay from November 1st through the 5th, we were comforted by the ability to spend time with our daughter in our room through the use of a Cuddle Cot. Cuddle Cots are a sort of small refrigeration system used in a bassinet that helps slow decomposition, thus allowing bereaved parents like us the gift of time with our baby. Jason and I took solace in the fact that our precious baby did not need to spend any time in a morgue because of this device. Instead, she was with us and our nursing staff until the funeral home came to pick her up. Unfortunately, Cuddle Cots are not available in all hospitals in Louisiana, and the overall number of Cuddle Cots in Louisiana is extremely low. To honor our beloved baby, we are seeking to raise funds to donate a Cuddle Cot in her memory and pass on the gift of time to other parents experiencing the gut-wrenching loss we experienced. We are partnering with The Ardent Foundation to acquire and donate a Cuddle Cot to Ochsner Kenner’s birthing center, which currently does not have any Cuddle Cots. And if our Go Fund Me is so blessed we might be able to donate more Cuddle Cots to additional hospitals all over the state of Louisiana. The CuddleCot cools to an ideal temperature for preserving baby without being too cold for the parents." One of the best ways you can honor Eleanor is to hug your children close to you and tell them how much you love them - whether they are 3, 23, or 43.

Przystan Medyczna NGO is dedicated to providing medical aid to destitute and homeless people, who are socially excluded. In the age of the pandemic, they have established a helpline, which has been used 220 times so far. Every phone call is followed by intervention, when young doctors & med students visit places where their homeless patients live. NGO provides them with not only medical aid but also clothes and other essential articles. Interventions are implemented with the help of an ambulance, which is not only a vehicle but also a space for comfortable and safe examination. The ambulance they currently use was donated to the Foundation in 2018 as used vehicle. Unfortunately, it is now in a poor technical condition owing to its age and frequent use. The repair costs exceed financial capacities. Therefore, we need to raise funds for a new one. Przystan Medyczna relies predominantly on donations, that is why we are kindly asking you for your support in buying a new Ambulance. We would appreciate any assistance!

In Memory of Lynda Foldesh--Let's Crush Pancreatic Cancer!

As you may have seen on CEC Cisco is supporting the Movember challenge to raise funds and awareness of men’s health issues. I’m supporting the campaign this Movember by growing my first ever moustache. I like the others doing the Movember challenge are doing this for all the dads, brothers, sons and friends in our lives. Globally, men die nearly 6 years earlier than women. To make it worse, the reasons are largely preventable. Each year more than 500,000 men die by suicide around the world. In fact, suicide is the leading cause of death globally among men aged 15-29. More than 1.3 million men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year. Testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. That’s why I’m doing Movember this year: they’re dedicated to changing the face of men’s health and so am I.

We here at The Blood Center offer free Antibody testing to each donor with their blood donation. We are also receiving Convalescent plasma donations, which is Plasma from prior COVID Positive Donors who have since recovered and their plasma is used to treat those hospitalized in fighting the virus. In many instances the effect of convalescent plasma on what was initially considered “terminal” patients have been remarkable. However, we seem to have recently “hit a proverbial brick wall”, as many citizens have become apathetic to the need for blood donations for the numerous individuals who battle Leukemia, Lymphoma, Sickle Cell and many other diseases that require blood and blood components for sustenance of life. COVID-19 fatigue has set in for many and while it has been a long-road, we still have a long way to go. If we are truly in this together, then we must all pull together when things get tough to overcome the adversity this pandemic has bestowed upon us while not allowing ourselves to be defeated.

Tennessee Breast Cancer Coalition, Helping Pay The Bills When Your Are In The Fight Of Your Life

Children are our hope. However 43 children in the U.S. are diagnosed with cancer every day (as per St. Jude's). Little federal funding is allocated to pediatric cancer compared to adult cancer. The advances in pediatric cancer research can alter the therapies of that of young adults and influence adult cancer. We would like to set up this fund to help Dana Farber Cancer Institute fund novel therapeutics for pediatric cancers, especially for liquid tumors like Leukemia.

Within VMware Benelux we started a fundraising for 113 by walking 2.500.000 steps to support the families affected and those who need help. Please join us in supporting 113 by donating money #forceforgood #SurvivorDay
