Since 1989, Rebuilding Together Peninsula (RTP) has provided year-round renovation and repair services for the Peninsula’s most vulnerable homeowners, from seniors and veterans to individuals with disabilities and families with children, as well as for a range of community facilities. As the only local organization addressing this particular need, RTP has built the expertise and infrastructure to tackle critical home repairs, securing safe and healthy housing for those most in need. People and families are considered poor when they lack the economic resources necessary to experience a minimal living standard. Official U.S. Census Bureau statistics estimate that 37 million persons, 11.4 percent of the total population, were poor in the United States in 2020. Despite the blessing of prosperity in America for almost 250 years there are still Americans in need in so many places and for so many basic things. Charities that enable people in extreme poverty to improve their quality of life. Focus areas emphasize promoting economic self-sufficiency and empowering community leaders for compounding impact, and going beyond saving lives to reducing concrete measures of acute suffering. Charities selected had low overhead and high transparency in their activities with high effectiveness-per-dollar as determined by watchdogs such as Giving What We Can and GiveWell, and on the ground as opposed to policy or research and development work.

Even in the heart of Silicon Valley there are thousands of families and individuals who don't know where their next meal is coming from. Your contributions to the this fund will help feed those who might otherwise go without.

Manners cost nothing, time isn't free... the VMWare Tanzu Labs EMEA team have decided to implement a series of fines for poor timekeeping or poor zoom etiquette (talking on mute 😡). These fines will be executed at the end of the FY and donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres to support their great work in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics.

Update from Kids Care Charity: Delivering lasting change for a single mother with three children, one of whom with a chronic brain disorder 👏 Her oldest child is with food disorder She is looking after them all alone since her husband passed away a few years ago. One of the children has a chronic brain disorder. They spend long periods in the hospital but no medication can help. We're supporting them with food, electric bills, clothing and shoes. We’ve also bought an air conditioner to help them with the rising cost of electricity. 👏👏👏 We are now paying for visits to a psychiatrist who is now working with both children needing help. As a result of the psychiatric therapies funded by Kids Care Charity, the main development is that the mother is in a much more stable mental state, which has a direct and distinctly positive effect on her parenting capacity. She is much more relaxed in handling the children, dividing her attention between them and dealing with daily tasks. Recommendations were given for her medical treatment and the overall approach to motherhood, which she accepted and undertook to follow. The child with eating disorder was consulted at her personal request. At the moment, her body weight and eating habits are under control. Like her mother, she is cooperative and takes full advantage of the therapeutic process. The child with the chronic brain disease is in a relatively stable condition (as far as this is possible with his disease), the dose of the medication is specified and is taken regularly. We continue the therapies with one of the best psychiatrists in Sofia. Huge thanks to VMware for making this possible! Together, we make the world a better place! Bilyana has three children to take care all alone, since her husband passed away a few years ago. One of the children has a chronic brain disorder and no medication can help. She needs support with food, bills and clothing.

Update from Kids Care: Kids Care provided 3 computers for each of the children, food supplies and one-on-one singing lessons for a whole year to the talented eldest daughter. This year, 2022, she graduated high school and is now fully prepared for the university singing exams. Before we entered their lives, she did not even dare to dream of such a possibility, she had completely lost faith in herself. Her talent is unparalleled, she participates in television shows, national and international competitions. She is the face of the young generation in the village, she gives hope and energy to the small settlement. The second child became very introverted and silent since the loss of his mother, he was very attached to her. We provided psychological support for him. He has a natural talent for drawing with regular pencils, although he has never had lessons. We have offered him individual drawing lessons, but for now he is putting it off because he has not yet dealt with the trauma of losing his mother. The child is valiant and hardworking and we will monitor his development and continue to support him. The youngest girl has an interest in computer technology. With her new computer, she began to quickly learn and develop her interests. She does not use it for games, like other children, but digs into learning about applications and how the computer works. Georgi and his 3 children recently suffered the loss of both the children's mother and grandmother in a short period of time. Georgi works hard to feed and take care of the children, but needs additional support. The grieving family needs assistance with food, bills and clothing. The children are also hard working and have talents that need help developing.

Stanislav and Kalina have 3 small children, that they managed to take care of before the pandemic stroke. Stanislav lost his job and works whatever odd jobs are available and Kalina has disabilities that do not allow her to work. The kids also suffer from various illnesses regularly. The family needs help with food, bills and some light housework fixes in the children's room.

Giving back is a fundamental part of the PEAK6 culture. Last year, we helped make the holidays brighter for over 500 children in eight cities in the U.S. This year, we were able to make the holidays brighter for 700+ children in need across the U.S. and U.K. We are truly appreciative of our team's generosity and look forward to continuing to make an impact in the communities where our businesses are located. In many African countries the food and clean water crisis is extreme. Most people eat just one meager meal a day, if at all. Hungry children do not attend school. Providing food for nutritious meals and clean water to these starving households will shield the children from malnutrition and enable them to attend school and learn valuable skills for a productive future.

Scotty’s Little Soldiers is a charity dedicated to supporting bereaved British Forces children and young people. Inspired by the experience of Army widow Nikki Scott, the charity honours husband Corporal Lee Scott’s memory – both as a loyal soldier and a loving father – and provides a practical yet personal way for the public at large to show their appreciation for those brave individuals who make the ultimate sacrifice in the service of their country.

Is there a better cause than helping the youngest? We are all aware of the difficult reality in Bulgaria, so let’s support the children in need and keep them in the remaining part of the family. We chose to give a hand to the children who have gone through the misfortune of losing a parent at such a fragile age. Above all, we strive to help in the poorest regions of Bulgaria, where the opportunities for work and development are limited and it is much more difficult to cope with the situation. Thus, our priority is all the poor children – the future of the country. With monthly contributions based on the number of orphans in a family, we try to offer a better life, meeting the basic needs.
