With a database of more than 24,000 programs and services throughout Missouri and Southwest Illinois, 2-1-1 connects local people with free, fast and confidential assistance to move from crisis to stability. WHY IT MATTERS When COVID-19 hit the St. Louis region in 2020, 2-1-1 received more than 192,000 requests for assistance, a 54% increase compared to 2019. 2-1-1 helped more than 8,100 people keep food on the table, assisted 17,277 people in accessing healthcare and connected more than 4,100 people to transportation. 2-1-1 also partnered with local agencies to create a COVID-19 hotline, which provided up-to-date information about testing, re-opening guidelines, and much more to the nearly 13,899 people who called. 2-1-1 provides critical help, from mental health supports to food and housing assistance to transportation and more, connecting local people to resources needed to thrive. With a goal of being accessible to each caller in the way that works best for them, 2-1-1 launched texting capabilities this past June, in addition to being available through phone, online chat and mobile app, with multilingual service for up to 250 different languages. United Way 2-1-1 works hard on its own to create partnerships that will ultimately change lives of those in need, but it still needs your backing to continue supporting the community 24/7. Four people were killed and 28 others injured when a mass shooting broke out at a crowded Sweet 16 birthday party in rural Dadeville, Alabama, on Saturday night, authorities said. The recent mass shooting in Alabama has left many people devastated and heartbroken. However, in response to this tragedy, a fund has been set up to provide assistance and support to the families affected by this senseless act of violence. The fund has been established by Solidariedade Na Mokili, in partnership with other local organizations, and aims to provide financial assistance to the families of the victims, as well as to support the ongoing work of law enforcement in investigating and preventing such tragedies in the future. The fund has already received an outpouring of support from people all over the country who are looking for ways to help those affected by this tragedy. By donating to this fund, we can all play a part in supporting the victims and their families during this difficult time and in helping to prevent such tragedies from happening again in the future. Leonid Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to respond to the current crisis in Ukraine. We help Ukrainian refugees who come into the central NJ area and ship humanitarian aid to Ukraine. We directly support Ukrainian Refugees regardless of immigration status with furniture and bedding, household items and cleaning supplies, hygiene Items and food, and other items. We partnered with doctors and attorneys to assist with legal advice and medical needs. We are working with an NJ Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics to provide support for refugee children who have experienced trauma due to War in Ukraine. To date, we helped over 250 refugee families in the NJ tri-state area and continue to help many more, all free of charge. We sent over 60 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine via a carefully vetted and tested network of volunteers and non-profit organizations. We do this all thanks to in-kind donations from individuals like you and companies like VMware!

This is a time that we can help Children and Seniors by fulfilling a wish that they have for the Holiday season. Family Giving Tree helps families who live in this deep shadow of success clear financial hurdles through our Back-to-School and Holiday Wish Drives. By partnering with hundreds of agencies, FGT aims to support students every school year and children, adults, and seniors during the Holiday Season.
