By supporting medical students and health professionals to implement the Health Career Collaborative program, we hope to create a pathway to health careers for youth from underrepresented and underserved communities. At the least, by facilitating mentor relationships between health professionals and youth, we hope to develop trust between health care institutions and underserved communities. We also believe that by increasing representation of underrepresented groups in health professions, we can begin to address the health disparities and racial bias that exists in healthcare.
