The ALC focuses on housing rights, immigration and immigrants’ rights, labor and employment issues, student advocacy, civil rights and hate violence, national security, and criminal justice reform.

Project Include

Women@ has nominated Project Include. Project Include’s mission is to give everyone a fair chance to succeed in tech. With tenants in inclusion, comprehensiveness, and accountability they are a solutions based non-profit that uses data and advocacy to accelerate diversity and inclusion solutions in the tech industry. The Women@ ERG has supported and learned from Project Include extensively and in 2017 gave out Ellen Pao's (CEO of Project Include) book at a Women@ happy hour. Women@ is excited to do more work with Project Include in 2018!

San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Community Center

Pridebox has nominated the SF LGBT Center. The SF LGBT Center is a fantastic resource for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. It offers extensive services, from counseling to job fairs mentorship, meals, daycare, and a long list of workshops. It's an important resource here in SF and sets a strong example nationally for many other local LGBT Centers.

Direct Relief

Latinx has nominated Direct Relief. Direct Relief is a medical relief organization active in all 50 states and 80 countries with a mission to help people affected by poverty or emergency situations. Recently Direct Relief delivered tens of millions of dollars worth of donated medical supplies to victims of this year's two devastating hurricanes in the Caribbean and earthquakes in Mexico. Direct Relief earned a 100% score on CharityNavigator.com.

Currently, Direct Relief is also providing extensive support to those affected by the Southern California fires. They have delivered tens of thousands of respiratory masks to victims as well as medicine and Personal Care Packs. Direct Relief is coordinating its response with partner healthcare clinics in Ventura County, the Ventura County Public Health Department, the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County, Clinicas del Camino Real, and other agencies including the Red Cross of Central California and the National Association of Community Health Centers.

Team Rubicon

Vets@ has nominated Team Rubicon. Team Rubicon is a team of Veterans and kickass civilians who partner with local agencies during disasters. By engaging Veterans in continued service, not only does Team Rubicon provide relief to affected communities, but many Veteran volunteers begin to regain a sense of purpose, community that they may have not found after leaving the military. In the past 6 months alone, they have deployed in support of the Northern California wildfires, the hurricanes in Puerto Rico and Houston, and many other smaller scale disaster relief missions.

Open Door Legal

DfG SF has nominated Open Door Legal (formerly known as Bayview-Hunters Point Community Legal). Open Door Legal believes that the law should be accessible to everyone. Its radical inclusivity includes entrepreneurs, tenants, parents, debtors, and more. Open Door Legal's mission is to ensure that everyone, from tenants to entrepreneurs, can get legal representation on every viable legal issue. They focus on the highest-need neighborhoods of southeast San Francisco, and have pioneered the country's first system of universal access to civil representation in Bayview/Hunters Point.
