I was inspired to create this San Francisco Nonprofits Serving the Homeless Fund after volunteering at Lava Mae's Pop Up-Care Village. I took part in Lava Mae's efforts to provide services and radical hospitality to over 200 individuals in San Francisco. The Pop-Up Care Village brings together several services into one location to provide a one-stop shop for homeless individuals. While at the Village, I was introduced to other great nonprofit organizations who provide services to the homeless, including Swords to Plowshares which helps homeless veterans. Please join me in supporting these nonprofits serving the homeless population in San Francisco. War causes wounds and suffering that last beyond the battlefield. Swords to Plowshares' mission is to heal the wounds of war, to restore dignity, hope and self-sufficiency to all veterans in need, and to prevent and end homelessness and poverty among veterans.
