Local Ecology and Agriculture Fremont
LEAF - Educational Programs
Every year LEAF hosts over 30 classes, workshops and field trips. Monthly free workshops are held at two Fremont libraries, including an after-school Kids’ Plant Science series. Fee-based maker classes include hands-on learning at LEAF’s C.R. Stone Garden. K-12 classes visit the Stone Garden to learn about agricultural biology - bees, pollination and invertebrates in compost.
Feeding the Food Bank
A volunteer crew at the C.R. Stone Garden grow veggies for donation to the TCV Food Bank - helping to improve the health of those living with food insecurity.
Community Garden
The LEAF Center, built and managed by LEAF, is a state-of-the-art community garden and Fremont’s ONLY public community garden. It’s ADA-compliant and we’ve had people with physical disabilities both rent planters and volunteer here.
