Save the Children
Save the Children is responding with emergency assistance. Save the Children has worked in Indonesia for more than three decades. They have responded to nearly all of the natural disasters that occurred in the region.
Islamic Relief USA
Islamic Relief Indonesia is on the ground providing vital humanitarian aid. Past Islamic Relief efforts in Indonesia began in 2000; the Jakarta office opened in 2003 to implement and maintain long-term relief and development programs. IRUSA’s previous efforts include comprehensive aid given following the 2004 tsunami that devastated the country. Islamic Relief affiliates continue to work on rehabilitation projects in response to natural disasters that have hit the area.
Direct Relief emergency response staff are assessing the operational status of local healthcare providers and their need for external support, and will share additional information as it becomes available. Direct Relief has a long history of responding to emergencies in the region, including the 6.9-magnitude earthquake that rocked the Indonesian island of Lombok on August 5, 2018, as well as a multi-year effort to assist after the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.
