About

Givewell search for the charities that save or improve lives the most per dollar. GiveWells top charities are evidence-backed, thoroughly vetted, underfunded organizations. They recommend charities according to how much good additional donations can do. Here are the GiveWell top charities that are approved for Cisco matching in BrightFunds.

Malaria Consortium US

Malaria Consortium's seasonal malaria chemoprevention program is one of givewells top-rated charities and we believe that it offers donors an outstanding opportunity to accomplish good with their donations.
Medicine to prevent malaria
Malaria Consortium (malariaconsortium.org) works to save lives and improve health in Africa and Asia through evidence-based programs that combat targeted diseases and promote universal health coverage.1 This review focuses on its seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) program, which distributes antimalarial drugs to children 3 to 59 months old in order to prevent illness and death from malaria, typically in four or five monthly cycles during the high transmission season; our recommendation is just for this part of Malaria Consortium's work.

Against Malaria Foundation

The Against Malaria Foundation (AMF) is one of givewells top-rated charities and we believe that it offers donors an outstanding opportunity to accomplish good with their donations.
Nets to prevent malaria
AMF provides long-lasting insecticide-treated nets (for protection against malaria) in bulk to other non-profit organizations or government agencies, which then distribute the nets in low- and middle-income countries. Through 2021, AMF had supported large-scale distributions in eight countries (DRC, Ghana, Guinea, Malawi, Papua New Guinea, Togo, Uganda, and Zambia), for a total of around 85 million LLINs distributed

New Incentives

New Incentives is one of givewells top-rated charities and we believe that it offers donors an outstanding opportunity to accomplish good with their donations.
Cash incentives for routine childhood vaccines
New Incentives runs a conditional cash transfer (CCT) program in North West Nigeria. Caregivers who bring their infants to clinics for routine vaccines, which are provided through government clinics free of charge, can receive a total of $11 over the course of five clinic visits. New Incentives also does outreach to caregivers about the importance of vaccinating children, and works with its government partners to improve vaccine supply by identifying and addressing bottlenecks in the vaccine supply chain.
