2020 New York Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund

About

We recognize that each community will have their own set of challenges in light of the Coronavirus. Bright Funds Foundation has established the 2020 New York Coronavirus Response and Recovery Fund to address the unique needs of the New York community. Through a single donation to the Fund, you can support multiple organizations' initiatives to provide short-term and long-term response and recovery. Given the ever-changing nature of this pandemic and widespread impact, the composition of the nonprofits in this Fund will evolve.

Your Donation Supports

New York Community Trust aka Community Funds, Inc.

The New York Community Trust connects past, present, and future generous New Yorkers with vital nonprofits working to make a healthy, equitable, and thriving community for all.

Citymeals on Wheels

Citymeals is working with partners across the five boroughs, including the New York City Department for the Aging, to support the City’s response to the coronavirus. As the designated emergency responder for the city’s seniors, they are working to ensure older New Yorkers have nourishing meals during this public health crisis. The city’s senior centers are now closed; however, home-delivered meal programs continue at this time. These meals are essential for the homebound elderly, many of whom live on just one meal a day. They are practicing social distancing and have directed all volunteers with their Friendly Visiting program to connect with meal recipients over the phone to reduce possible transmission of the virus.

God's Love We Deliver, Inc.

God’s Love We Deliver cooks and home-delivers nutritious, medically tailored meals for people too sick to shop or cook for themselves. To support the health of their clients, they also provide ongoing nutrition assessment, education, and counseling. God’s Love is a non-sectarian organization serving people in need and their children and caregivers. As of next Friday, they will have packed and delivered all 4,600 emergency meal bags of shelf-stable food to their clients in response to the new processes in place because of the Coronavirus.

Callen-Lorde Community Health center

Callen-Lorde Community Health Center provides sensitive, quality health care and related services targeted to New York's LGBTQ communities — in all their diversity — regardless of ability to pay. To further this mission, Callen-Lorde promotes health education and wellness and advocates for LGBTQ health issues.

Community Healthcare Network Inc

Community Healthcare Network Inc serves over 85,000 New Yorkers a year throughout four boroughs to live their healthiest lives. Their network is made up of 14 federally qualified health centers throughout Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Manhattan, along with a fleet of mobile vans that bring health services to underserved people in need throughout New York City. They provide judgment-free, high-quality healthcare, without regard to race, religion, orientation, gender identity, immigration status or ability to pay. They turn no one away.
